...UNSETTLED WEATHER EXPECTED THROUGH THE NEW YEARS WEEKEND...

A STRONG PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST
AND BRING ABUNDANT PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA THIS
WEEK...AND LASTING THROUGH THE NEW YEARS HOLIDAY WEEKEND. MOST
SECTIONS WILL SEE LIGHT PRECIPITATION THROUGH TONIGHT...THEN IT WILL
INTENSIFY FIRST IN SOUTHWEST UTAH ON TUESDAY AND SPREAD NORTH ACROSS
THE AREA TUESDAY NIGHT.

PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF RAIN IN MOST VALLEYS THROUGH
EARLY TUESDAY NIGHT...WITH SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS. THEN AS COLDER
AIR SPREADS NORTH ACROSS THE AREA...RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW IN MANY
OF THE VALLEYS.

THIS STORM WILL USHER IN A PROLONGED PERIOD OF UNSETTLED WEATHER
FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK...THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND...AND
INTO THE FIRST WEEK OF THE NEW YEAR. HEAVY SNOW WILL OCCUR IN THE
MOUNTAINS DURING THIS STORMY PERIOD...AS WELL AS MANY VALLEY
LOCATIONS.

HAZARDOUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS STORM AS IT
MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. IF YOU HAVE TRAVEL OR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
PLANNED STAY WELL INFORMED ABOUT THIS DEVELOPING WINTER STORM. TUNE
